David Vidales completes the Campos Racing line-up for 2022, with the team announcing he will be joining Hunter Yeany and Josep Maria Marti for this season.
He steps up to Formula 3 on the back of a year in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, he finished 10th overall with three podiums and a win. He took part in the post-season test in Valencia for day 1 and 2, he finished top 10 in both sessions on day 2.
The Spanish driver, only made his single-seater debut in 2020, racing for JD Motorsport in Formula Renault Eurocup, he placed sixth with six podiums and a win to his name. Vidales then remained in the series as it merged with Formula Regional European Championship.
On joining Campos, Vidales said: “It’s an honour for me to become part of the team founded by the late Adrian Campos, the man who, together with my manager Salvatore Gandolfo, helped me in my first steps in single-seater driving. Also, I am very proud to join a Spanish team and I can’t wait to start working with them to aim for wins in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 series!”
